A workshop tailored to your goals

No two sessions are the same. Your workshop can be shaped around the type of photography you want to shoot. These include:

What the session is like

The workshop combines straightforward explanation with lots of practical shooting. I keep the theory clear and useful, then we spend time testing setups, making adjustments and seeing how small changes affect the image.

You will not be watching me do it. You will be shooting, adjusting and learning by doing.

We’ll also leave time for questions, troubleshooting and honest advice on what to practise next.

Optional extras

This workshop can also include:

  • working with a model

  • product photography for businesses

  • on-location commercial lighting

  • help choosing future lighting kit

  • advice on editing and finishing your images

What to bring

Please bring:

  • your camera

  • memory card

  • fully charged battery and spare

  • any lenses you want to use

  • any flash or lighting kit you already own and want help with

If your camera fails on the day, I do have a spare mirrorless camera available.

  • ISO

  • aperture / f-stop

  • shutter speed

After the session

Digital handouts are provided after the session so you can revisit the main learning points in your own time.

  • I had a 121 workshop with Alex and it was great. I am a beginner and Alex is a great teacher. He really helped me understand the technical aspects of photography and my camera using a very practical style. I would highly recommend Alex. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alex's skills are incredible! As a business we always endeavour to take on additional training to up-skill our team in-house, and in order to do that you need to find 'Masterminds' to learn from. Alex is that Mastermind for Photography!

We have undertaken one-to-one training sessions with Alex in order to learn more about the field of photography. Alex is very thorough, setting off with a structured daily itinerary with learning objectives. He's very accommodating and caters the sessions to what you ask for, as well as ensuring the basics are understood and practiced. No question is a silly question when working with Alex, he is super patient and such an engaging teacher.

Alex has also provided us with post-session video tutorials (Lightroom editing, importing etc) so that we have further guides to work from as we continue to practice and learn after the sessions!

We asked Alex to help us further by generating an equipment list for us to purchase. Alex gave us an in-depth list and several options for equipment so we can work well in our own studio space and get the most out of it.

So, if you're looking to 'level-up' your photography skills with a mentor that is friendly and extremely knowledgeable - this is the guy for you. Thanks Alex
