— A business (or corporate) headshot is crucial for your business. From creating that initial reinforcement of your brand it also helps to sow trust between you and a potential client. As the old adage goes, ‘people buy from people’ - and in an age of AI, nothing has been more important.
A headshot can take various forms, from more informal ‘reportage style’ to more formal ‘in front of a brand colour’ - the exact requirements depends entirely on your brand and business and what you want to portray.
I specialise in providing both options to clients - creating continuity and consistency between people (regardless of dates or locations) and also providing something more unique and personal.
A business headshot extends beyond just being used on your website, from LinkedIn profiles through to proposal documents and beyond. The power of something so comparatively small cannot be understated.

— I have a portable professional photography studio setup that I take to businesses to capture company portraits. I can happily setup in any space to capture the perfect portrait.
I also love to capture location portraits, where I can use either part of your premises as a backdrop or where we can head outside to capture business and personal portraits within urban or rural environments.
I also have my own portrait studio for capturing headshots which has a range of backdrops, colours and environments.

A business portrait can be wider, showing more of your environment and body - often used for websites, PR and branding.
As a headshot photographer in Cardiff, I offer both styles depending on how you want to present yourself.

The best setting depends on how you’ll use your headshots.
A studio session gives you clean, professional results with controlled lighting, perfect for LinkedIn and corporate profiles.
Office or on-location headshots in Cardiff can show more of your working environment and feel less formal, ideal for websites and marketing.
Shooting outside or on location doesn’t mean we need to compromise on quality - I bring my studio to you.
I can advise on the right approach depending on your brand image.

A few basic things will help you get the most out of the shoot (and the photos). I have assembled a guide which goes through some of the basic things to do pre-photoshoot, but also goes a bit deeper into types of clothing to wear.

After the shoot (within 1-2 working days) you will be sent a link to a private online gallery to view and choose your image(s) for editing (either via dropbox or other service).
Once i’ve received your final choice to edit - please allow 2 working days for images to be delivered by retransfer or dropbox. For larger volume clients - there will be an agreed time-frame to deliver the final shots.
Need it faster? That’s usually no problem - please inform me at the booking stage if you require it sooner and I can advise. A small additional fee is applicable for same day turnaround.

Hair and makeup are not included as standard, but many clients choose to book a makeup / hair stylist for extra confidence.
Simple, natural makeup and tidy hair generally work best for corporate portraits.

I can squeeze in small(ish) meeting rooms. But what is most important is usually the height.
An ideal space would be 4m (w) x 6m (l) x 3m (h).

How I work

Let’s chat
— We can arrange an in-person consultation at my offices or chat over the phone / zoom / skype etc. This is a great opportunity to find out how you envisage your final headshots & nail down your preferences and style.
02.
Planning & preparation
— This can typically include: location selection, creating itineraries for shooting large teams, travel planning and individual preparation guides.
03.
It’s shoot day!
— With everything planned and ready, this is when we get to shoot and capture some amazing imagery. I’ll work with you or your team to make sure everyone’s comfortable and comes away with headshots they really like.
04.
Your photos
— Once the shoot is over, you will be sent an online secure link to view the proofs from the shoot for selecting your final headshots. These will then be edited for colour balance, minor blemishes, removal of small artefacts (litter / scratches etc). All editing is kept light and natural. If you want any additional shots, these can be highlighted at this phase.
