Penarth Pier - Drone Tester - August 2023
So, I finally bought a drone. Woop woop.
Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t automatically make me a ‘commercial drone pilot’ and I’m keeping it very much for fun at the moment. That said, I’ve officially registered with the Civil Aviation Authority - so at least I’m all legit!.

VW garage tour video with Clarke's Automotive in Swadlincote
Sometimes my job / interest / vocation sends me to the most interesting parts of the UK and Europe and is something that I love to do - call it the human interest, no, you can definitely say that I’m nosey! This was a recent visit to Clarke’s Automotive in Swadlincote to meet the main man, Tom (Head Honcho) at this specialist VW garage which painstakingly restores and maintains some classic old school aircooled Volkswagen vehicles. We’re talking beetles, split screens, the odd Porsche and many more.

Stalking the dawn of 2023
An early morning ‘up and out’ and a wander down to Penarth Pier, Vale of Glamorgan (South Wales, UK) - I was lucky to get sunrise let alone getting to watch the Dawnstalkers (Penarth’s early morning sea swim club) enjoying the golden glow.

Three Cliffs bay & Pennard Castle - A (very) wet Swansea coastal Adventure
Mid-lockdown, November 2020 - we’d been indoors without really heading outside for any amount of time and the walls were starting to close in. With our minds set firmly on taking advantage at the earliest opportunity, we set our sights firmly on Pennard Castle, Three Cliffs Bay in the Gower, Swansea. A beautiful stretch of South Wales that is also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Cardiff in lockdown photo series - Sunday 29 March 2020
It’s Sunday 29th March 2020 and the UK has been officially in lockdown for seven days, with permitted outings for essential groceries, exercise and work if you cannot work from home. Today, I rolled the three in to one with a cycle trip through Cardiff city centre and headed to my studio in Cardiff Bay to check mail and get essential work-from-home items.

Lord of the Flies Theatre Advertising Photoshoot
The journey began way before this actual shoot, with the meeting with Rachel O'Riordan, artistic director at the Sherman - to get a full brief and a clear idea on what needs to be conveyed.

Great locations for photographers in Cardiff, South Wales
I love researching a location and going on hunts for the 'perfect spot' - being a photographer in Cardiff South Wales, I have an amazing array of photography locations on my doorstep - from beach front, to amazing buildings in Cardiff City Centre.

Abandoned photoshoot location - Boys Village, South Wales

Revisiting the WW2 bunker at Lavernock Point, Vale of Glamorgan.
Revisiting Lavernock bunker complex.

Mannequins of Bruges
I've always been obsessed with mannequins, masks, realistic recreations of the human form plus a large smattering of (anti)consumerism. It could have been due to a clandestine viewing of Bladerunner at an early age, who knows.

Cardiff Bay to Penarth
A post-christmas walk from Cardiff Bay barrage to Penarth Pier. A much needed 'blowing out of the cobwebs' along this quite ruggedly barren and curious coastline. Along the way I got to try out a few new ND filters, muvi timelapse device and gorilla pod. Yes, I was a good boy this year.
